How to find your iPhone IMEI and serial number

An IMEI and an Apple serial number identify a device in different ways. Copy the exact value required by your selected check; they are not interchangeable.

In iPhone Settings, open General then About to find the 15-digit IMEI or the separate serial number.
Illustrated steps, not a device screenshot. Copy the identifier required by your selected service.

Find the identifiers in Settings

  1. Open Settings on the iPhone.
  2. Choose General → About.
  3. Find the serial number or IMEI. If IMEI and IMEI2 are shown, copy the value you intend to check.
  4. Compare it with your selected service before submitting.

If the phone is on the Hello screen

Apple’s guide shows how to use the information button on the Hello screen before setup. Other options depend on the device and your access. See Apple’s instructions for finding device identifiers.

Use the correct format

An IMEI contains exactly 15 digits. Our format check also checks its check digit; passing that test does not prove that the phone exists or belongs to the seller. Apple serial numbers can contain letters and digits and have different lengths depending on the device.

Do not add zeros, change characters or substitute the model number. A photographed box or listing can show a different device’s identifier. Avoid posting your identifiers publicly.

Choose a check for your question

Use the Find My check for a reported ON/OFF status, the carrier report for its combined fields, or the blacklist check for reported blacklist information.
